PRAYER FOR THE WEEK
This week’s prayer reflection is in honour of the Feast of Christ the King which falls on Sunday (26 Nov).
Feast of Christ the King (Daniel 7:13-14)
As I watched in the night visions,
I saw one like a human being coming with clouds of heaven.
And he came to the Ancient One and was presented before him.
To him was given dominion and glory and kingship,
That all peoples, nations and languages should serve him.
His dominion is an everlasting dominion that shall not pass away,
And his kingship is one that shall never be destroyed.

FAREWELL TO MR WYSS
This morning the St Brigid’s School Community had the opportunity to farewell Mr Greg Wyss after 11 years of outstanding leadership at our school We wish him all the very best as he embarks on his well-deserved retirement. It was wonderful to see many members of the school community come along and join us in farewelling Mr Wyss.
PRE PRIMARY NATIVITY ASSEMBLY
This morning our Pre Primary students performed the Christmas Nativity Play. They reminded us of the importance of the Christmas message and that Christ is at the centre of not only the upcoming season but also our school faith community.
VOLUNTEERS’ MORNING TEA
During 2017 we have had many people who have given their time to come and assist us in many ways around the school. We are very appreciative of all this help. A morning tea will be held on Tuesday 5 December commencing at 9.00am to say thank you for the assistance we have been given this year.
STUDENTS LEAVING THE SCHOOL
Families who are leaving St Brigid’s Primary School at the end of 2017 and who haven’t notified the school are requested to write to the Principal as soon as possible. This allows the school to plan for next year’s classes and new enrolments.
ANNUAL COMMUNITY MEETING
Thank you to the many parents and staff who attended the Annual Community Meeting, on Wednesday night. It was tremendous to see so many people make the effort to come along to this meeting to hear the reports from both the School Board and P&F Association. I am sure that all present would agree that both the School Board and P&F Association have been extremely busy and productive over the year.
Parents in attendance had the opportunity to hear about future developments within the school, the focus areas and curriculum initiatives. The feedback from parents has been that this information was most worthwhile and valuable.
It was also fantastic to see the large contingent of staff present at the meeting. Thank you for this support and level of interest.
STAFFING 2018
It is with some sadness that we will be saying farewell to some long standing staff members at the conclusion of the 2017 school year. Mr Mike DeSouza will be pursuing other opportunities outside education. Ms Kelly Brown has accepted another Finance Officers role in another catholic school. We will have the opportunity to officially farewell these staff members and others mentioned in previous newsletters at our end of term thanksgiving mass on Friday 6th December.
TERM DATES
Term 1 will commence on Wednesday 31 January 2018.
Easter Holidays will commence Friday 30th March 2018 and conclude Tuesday 3 April 2018.
As yet, an end date for 2018 for students from K - Yr 6 has not yet been confirmed. We will keep you posted.
Wishing you all a wonderful week.

P & F NEWS
St Brigid’s Parents and Friends Association
-
In the interest of sustaining P & F activities, we hope to introduce Class Representatives for each year group in 2018. This will allow for the 'load' to be spread throughout the school community and encourage more participation in school activities. It will also help to develop a sense of community within the families at each year group level and provide more opportunities to provide feedback to the School's Leadership Team.
At least one representative per year is required, however, two representatives per year is encouraged. We would like you to consider this role and nominate yourself at the AGM next Wednesday evening. Nomination forms were sent home with the eldest child today.
Class Reps are voluntary positions that provide an invaluable point of contact for parents in the year group. The Role of a Class Representative is:
• Attend (or provide reports/updates to) monthly P & F meetings to represent the views of their year group
• Communicate meeting outcomes back to their year group
• Welcome new families to the school
• Help organize and promote social and fundraising events for the wider school, year or class (including ticket distribution and collection of money on occasions as required) Event organisation may be allocated to one or more year groups, for example the athletics carnival coffee and cake stall may be run by 1 or 2 year groups, with guidance from the P & F Executive.
If you have questions regarding the roles please contact Emma (0432 896 213) or Karryn (0409 293 198) or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
