Passion Play

By NEWS

We are constantly in awe of our students. This year we saw our Year five students along with their teachers perform our Passion Play for the community. This very special assembly helps our children to understand Easter and what it means for us as Christians. Mrs Yeo and every class joined in with singing our hymns to further help us to comprehend the Easter message. Jesus is alive for us and continues in our lives daily and always.

First Reconciliation

By NEWS

4th May, was a very special time for the thirty-four children who made their First Reconciliation and for their proud parents and family too! Congratulations to the children on your wonderful preparation and participation. Thank you to their parents and family for your pleasing support now and into your child’s future sacramental participation. A sincere thank you to their class teachers, Ms Davies and Ms Mitchell, for your excellent preparation of the children and fantastic assistance with the liturgy. Thank you also to Mrs Yeo for your pleasing help with the PowerPoint presentation and music, along with all staff who attended in support. We had a wonderful team of Priests including Fr Benny, Fr Liam and Fr Michael to assist us and I would like to thank and acknowledge them for their important religious leadership. May the peace of our Lord remain with you all.

Sacred Space

By NEWS

Our Sacred Space project has been a vision for a number of years and has now come to fruition. It is great to see this vision turn into a reality. Our Sacred Space incorporates a small grotto and provides a focal point for our school community. This is an area where students and teachers can connect to God through prayer and reflection.

ST BRIGID’S 2019 CEWA AWARDS.

By NEWS

St Brigid’s has been recognised in the 2019 Catholic Education LEAD awards for the Drumming Program.

The drumming Program received a Merit award in recognition of this wonderful program.

The awards recognise and reward CEWA schools for meaningful initiatives or programs created to provide their students with outstanding outcomes for students and align with the values of Learning, Engagement, Accountability and Discipleship.

The drumming group is an opportunity to explore the world of drumming as well as developing and fostering friendships. Throughout sessions, the group will explore relationships, feelings and working together as part of a team – important skills for us all to have in life.
• It promotes right and left hand co-ordination
• It develops hand – eye co-ordination
• It helps to release feelings sometimes difficult to express in healthy ways
• It provides instruction which encourages focus, discipline and the ability to follow directions
• It builds self-confidence (there is no such thing as failing in drumming)
• It is uplifting and energetic
• It encourages new friendships and interactions with others, and
• IT IS FUN!

Congratulations to Ms Alison Yeo and Ms Laurie Eveson in making this possible and the students involved.
