Technology

At St Brigid’s Primary School, we embed the use of technology into each student’s day to support and enhance his or her learning. Our Digital and Design Technologies programs are curriculum aligned and both areas are taught in unison as well as being integrated within other learning areas.

It is our mission to provide our students opportunities to experience a range of technological resources. These tools are used to code robotics, design and create games, write algorithms to solve problems and participate actively in a collaborative learning environment. Our junior years students are introduced to and begin using iPads when they enter Pre-Kindergarten. This is designed to motivate and inspire our students through digital learning experiences requiring investigation, creation, communication and working collaboratively with their peers. Our upper years students have access to a one-to-one device program.

This one-to-one program has an emphasis on using a device as a learning tool to foster and promote our students’ capability to collaborate, share information and experiences, work across the domains of our curriculum and lead students to be able to self-direct their learning. The Digital and Design Technologies program is supported by teachers who have the skills and expertise in understanding the importance of ensuring our students are computer literate and 21st century ready.
